About a year ago, that Facebook introduced free basics. Which has helped a lot of people use internet even without an active data plan.
Currently, only Airtel and 9Mobile networks support free basic internet
in Nigerian. I still don’t know what MTN and Globacom are waiting for.
Usually on Facebook free mode, you won’t be able to view photos but with this tips, you can view photos. All you need to do is to install the facebook lite app which is the data friendly version of Facebook app it loads faster, saves battery, data and works well in areas with poor network Reception unlike the conventional Facebook app.
An Android phone
9mobile or Airtel sim without airtime or active data plan,Facebook lite App
Your network should have at least a decent 2G service but 3G or 4G are better.
HOW TO GET IT DONE
First after downloading and installing the FB lite app, open it and log in (if is your first time of using it) after about a minute, close it switch off your data now move over to your phone settings>Locate App> scroll down to facebook lite tap on it to clear the data of the facebook lite.
Then switch on your data and launch your Facebook lite app enter your login details again
At this point, you will notice that it won’t load when trying to login, just exit the FB lite app and reopen it again. It will load. You will be welcomed to data mode and you will also see option for switching back to free mode.
At the moment, you will notice that your on data mode and you will start seeing all pictures this means that all images and photos will be visible for you to see now In free mode ( free basic) but you won’t be able to watch videos on the Facebook lite app.
