Google is going to stop it service from running on it’s android jellybean device, jellybean was released six years ago Is the oldest version of Android that’s still getting Google chrome updates but all that is going to change soon. A new comment spotted by developers at XDA reveals that chrome will soon end it’s support for jelly bean.

I’m not surprised about the news because it’s a very old version and many people have upgraded. Android jelly bean spans from Android version 4.1 to 4.3, powers about 3.2 percent of Android devices currently. A pretty small number if you ask me.

In regards to the comments – update UI for unsupported Android OS and make jelly bean unsupported. It’s pretty obvious chrome will be ending support for jelly bean in the nearest future.

The particular timeline for a change was not mentioned, so for now we really can’t say when is going to happen, but only to get you informed

When this change is made, The oldest version of Android supported by chrome will be android KitKat.

So if you own a device that still runs on jelly bean, keep in mind that this change is coming soon. There still other browser which support older versions but Google chrome will not be one of them as far as jelly bean is concern
