Fingerprint security is coming to WhatsApp soon which means no more snooping around on other people’s chats when the application is not open.
WhatsApp is really working around the clock to ensure that users get the best out of it this year and while we wait to see more update in the future which will include ads, the fingerprint security is almost around the corner.According to the WhatsApp beta update for Android,the company is said to be working on a new authentication feature which isn’t available globally yet as the features is currently under development.
Once the fingerprint feature is enable,the application will be completely protected,so the user will need to authenticate his identify in order to open WhatsApp ( from the app icon,from the notification or from external pickers).
It will protect the entire app,meaning you can’t use it to lock specific conversation for now.
The company is also rumored to be working on implementing Face ID and touch ID for iOS. There will be a section in the application where users can enable this fingerprint authentication feature
This feature is in alpha stage of development, it will be available in a few weeks from now for Android users. Marshmallow and above with iOS users.
WhatsApp is also working on improving the application audio picker that will allow users to see the list of all available audio files stored in the phone before sending it,and it is also possible to select more audio files to send!
